Lyze Hats: Lyze Bamigbola

After a non art-related educational background, Lyze ventured into millinery, following her passion for creativity.

Always an enquiring mind, she studied at Kensington and Chelsea College under Kirsten Scott and Ian Bennett. In 2001 she won the Feltmakers Award in the Design category.

She gained more tutelage from Rose Cory and hands-on experience under the watchful eyes of Siegfreid Hesbacher (Siggi Hats) and Edwina Ibbotson.

Her style is a classic assertion, reflected in her quirky, edgy and colourful creations, with attention to detail and a high standard of finish.

Her headpieces are worn for weddings, race events, soiree affairs and garden parties. They have been featured in national newspapers and magazines and have won awards, including the Mahogany Bride Accessory Award in 2004 and 2005.

She also collaborates with fashion designers.

Lyze is passionate about giving back, and tutors privately, most recently taking on members of the Milliners Network Association of Nigeria.

Her goal is to inspire confidence and a timeless sophistication in the wearer.

Lyze works from her South London studio.
