Millinery Heritage

“Millinery holds a deep personal and cultural significance for me — it’s a space where heritage, identity, and self-expression meet. I’m drawn to the tradition of headwear as both an art form and a symbol, rich with history and ritual. Through my work, I honour this legacy while reimagining it for today.

I try to blend traditional craftsmanship with modern aesthetics. By incorporating unconventional and experimental materials, I aim to redefine the art of millinery — creating pieces that feel both timeless and boldly contemporary.

From an early age, I was immersed in creativity, spending countless hours in my mother’s painting studio. Surrounded by color, texture, and imagination, I developed a deep appreciation for artistic expression. This foundation naturally led me to pursue a degree in Fine Art, where I specialised in sculpture and discovered my enduring love for form, material, and texture.

About Martha Lynn

Martha’s journey into the world of millinery began with an unwavering commitment to craft and creativity. She honed her skills through prestigious apprenticeships with legendary hatmakers Philip Treacy and Stephen Jones, fully immersing herself in the artistry and precision that define haute couture headwear.

Fuelled by this exceptional experience, Martha launched her own studio in Dublin, where her fearless approach to form, texture, and silhouette quickly distinguished her from the rest. Her work unfolds as a bold dialogue between heritage technique and contemporary expression—a fusion that has captured the attention of the international style elite.

Now based in London, she continues to design bespoke and ready-to-wear pieces. Her signature? A sharply modern sensibility layered over time-honoured craftsmanship, redefining millinery for a new generation of statement-makers.
